On OCC Becoming the Oklahoma Faith Network

In 1972, when the Oklahoma Conference of Churches was founded, it was an ecumenical organization for Christian denominations, with the goal of fostering relationships across denominational lines. For over a decade, the Oklahoma Conference of Churches has expanded upon that mission, welcoming membership and participation from a variety of organizations, including interfaith houses of worship, secular non-profits, and corporations, all of whom have shown a commitment to the work of faith community engagement in our state. It is because of the diversity of our membership, and with the mindset of inclusivity, that our board of directors elected to change the name of our organization from the Oklahoma Conference of Churches to the Oklahoma Faith Network. This is a name that more fully encompasses the work our organization has been doing for some time now, and will help us as we continue our mission of connecting, motivating, and empowering communities of faith across Oklahoma.

Please join us throughout the year, as we journey into our new name and continue to work ahead. You can support our increasingly crucial work at www.okchurches.org/donate.
